This position serves as a vital operational partner to the engineering site leadership, driving the planning and execution of strategic events, community engagement initiatives, and business operations that shape the employee experience and strengthen regional partnerships. Working at the intersection of operations, communications, and culture-building, this role requires a dynamic professional who can independently manage multiple priorities while collaborating across diverse teams including human resources, finance, communications, and legal affairs. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining business rhythms, supporting financial planning activities, and delivering programs that engage STEM communities, universities, tech ecosystems, customers, and partners. This position offers the unique opportunity to influence workplace culture, drive strategic initiatives, and create meaningful connections between the organization and the broader Austin community through creative event programming and thoughtful stakeholder engagement.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the Engineering Site Leader in maintaining a rhythm of the business that drives execution of core business priorities and encourages best practice sharing among engineering sites
- Support and participate in strategic initiatives or cross-group projects contributing to the overall strategy, creating and implementing accurate plans with successful metrics and communication approaches
- Partner with corporate communications and local teams to deliver internal communication strategies including meetings,
- presentations, and newsletters, as well as external communication strategies encompassing university engagement, customer relations, partner engagement, and public relations
- Collaborate with leaders, human resources, and diversity and inclusion champions to shape and influence a positive, inclusive, and innovative culture at engineering sites
- Deliver programs in support of strategic initiatives or cross-group projects that engage communities and ecosystems in the region, tracking and communicating progress against success metrics
- Maintain relationships with peers outside the team to ensure strong cross-group collaboration
- Partner with the Finance team and business program managers to support financial planning and budgeting, participating in expense reporting, budget tracking, and reconciliation activities
- Plan and execute meetings, events, and partnerships both internally and externally with partners, vendors, nonprofits, and universities
- Continuously identify opportunities to simplify processes and drive improvements and efficiencies
- Exercise sound judgment, tact, diplomacy, integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in communicating information and working with all levels of employees
Requirements
- Five to seven years of demonstrated experience in operations management and execution
- Five to seven years of event management and logistics experience
- Five to seven years of budget and financial management experience
- Four to six years of marketing and promotion experience
- Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Event management and logistics expertise with ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
- Budget and financial management capabilities including expense tracking, vendor contract management, and reconciliation
- Marketing and promotion skills for internal and external audiences
- Exceptional influence and collaboration abilities to work effectively across highly matrixed organizations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse stakeholder groups
- Operations management experience including process improvement and strategic planning
- Ability to work independently without significant oversight to achieve results with high accuracy and attention to detail under deadline pressure
- Self-motivated approach with proactive problem-solving capabilities
- Culture-building skills with focus on creating inclusive and innovative workplace environments
- Relationship management abilities for engaging with universities, nonprofits, tech communities, customers, and partners
